January 05, 2003OrcasWatch killer whales in their natural habitat from the Center for Whale Research on San Juan Island, Washington. Through this EarthCam camera, see the foraging, socializing, and traveling activities of the southern resident community of killer whales, which total approximately 83 whales. The Orca are most regularly seen in the protected inshore waters of the Strait of Georgia and Puget Sound, particularly in the vicinity of Haro Strait on the west side of San Juan Island. The killer whales often come very close to shore to feed in the kelp beds |
